The below has been written on behalf of Liontrust.
We will keep this page updated. If you have any questions or would like further information please contact consumerduty@liontrust.co.uk.
How have we structured the project?
We established a number of internal working groups to cover each of the four outcomes of the Consumer Duty as well as the cross-cutting requirements and have consulted and collaborated with a number of external partners, companies and organisations, including the IA (Investment Association).
Who is Consumer Duty Champion?
Our Consumer Duty Champion is Mandy Donald, who is a Non-executive Director (NED) of Liontrust Asset Management PLC and independent NED of the Liontrust Fund Partners LLP Management Committee.
Were any areas of harm identified?
Our approach to identifying areas of harm considered the four consumer outcomes at each stage in our documented consumer journey and product life cycle. This enables us to assess what we want investors to experience at each stage and how we can support them. Our review process highlighted some areas where we feel improvements are required, but we have not identified any material areas of harm.
-
ISA & JISA service provisions and literature – we will be conducting a review of how the service operates and the literature that we provide; some changes have already been made.
-
We are considering where we can align differences in consumer journeys to improve outcomes for investors; more information will be provided by the end of July 2023.
-
Accessibility of our literature and content – we have added tools to the website to aid accessibility for users. This includes providing the ability to change font sizes, colours and have an audio option for written content, for example. We are also working with our administrators, Bank of New York Mellon, to enable the provision of consumer communications in different accessible formats.
How will I receive updates on the EMT?
The EMT V4.1 was updated on 11 April 2023 to comply with the UK Consumer Duty requirements. The EMT V4.1 has 10 new fields. We have updated our EMT file for 30 April deadline and it will be distributed in the normal channels (via our website and other platforms) according to the quarterly cycle going forward. Please note that our Multi-Asset MPS and WSS services are not in-scope of the EMT but we have instead created a similar file that will be populated and uploaded to our website on a regular basis.
